VDO Battman Battery Monitor
VDO Battman III battery monitor. Battery monitors are an essential, not a luxury if you rely on a house battery for your power supply. Whilst an ammeter supplies accurate information on current being drawn or charged at any particular time and voltmeters will indicate when the battery has been significantly discharged, they do not give an accurate indication of how much charge is in the battery. That is a function discribed in ampere-hours, for which a battery monitor that measures charge drawn or charged over time is needed. A battery monitor can be likened to a fuel gauge. It is a complete battery check instrument which helps you to check the charge status of your batteries very easily. The VDO Battman III battery monitor is housed in a standard VDO Oceanline Black gauge housing and can accept the interchangeable bezels of this range. It has a digital display and comes complete with a rubber booted push button function selector switch that is seperately mounted. When the battery is known to be fully charged, the instrument is zeroed, and will thereafter display a negative Ah reading to indicate how many Ah the battery is below it's fully charged state. The multifunction display will also indicate instantaneous battery voltage and current being drawn or charged at that time. Suitable for monitoring one battery bank only. Supplied complete with a shunt that is fitted directly onto the negative battery terminal and a complete 10m long wiring loom. Nothing else is required for fitment. Dimensions: Instrument cutout d52mm, intrusion 50mm, Switch cutout d11mm, for panels up to 5mm thick, intrusion 25mm. |
