Coolant Temperature SwitchesTemperature switches, suitable for switching warning lights, alarms, fans etc. These are not gauge sensors. Switches marked ﾓNOﾔ are normally open (i.e. they are open at low temperatures and close on rising temperature), those marked ﾓNCﾔ are normally closed (i.e. they are closed at low temperatures and open on rising temperature). Single station sensors are for connection to one gauge. Dual station sensors are for connection to two gauges, as used on boats with a flybridge. Note that in order to give accurate readings, the two gauges connected to a dual station sensor must be identical. Earthed switches are connected to battery negative through the engine block (1 terminal), isolated switches are above earth and have a second terminal for connection to the battery negative. The standard configuration for high temperature alarms is a normally open switch. Switching temperatures and thread sizes depend on the requirements of the application. |
