BA7S Bayonet Lamp

Bayonet based lamps indicated by BA code, the number, for example ﾓ07ﾔ refers to the base size, i.e. 7mm, the last letter specifies ﾓsingleﾔ or ﾓdoubleﾔ contacts on the base. The next dimensions specify the glass diameter and overall length. G indicates a spherical globe. BA7S lamps are slightly different to the normal bayonet as they have two small pinched ﾓtabsﾔ instead of pins.

BAY15D Bayonet Navigation Light Lamp with Offset Pins

BAY15D marine navigation light lamps, suitable for Hella or Aquasignal Nav lights. The lamp base differs from standard BA15D lamp bases in that the pins are offset (staggered, at different heights). 10 W lamps are used for all white only lights, 25W lamps for any lights that have coloured lenses.

G4 Halogen Lamps

G4 Halogen lamps offer a greater light output per watt than normal tungsten bulbs. A halogen bulb is similar to an ordinary incandescent: both use electric currents to heat their tungsten filaments to white heat. But the lifetime of any filament is limited by its tendency to break down. Its tungsten atoms evaporate directly from solid to gas and then deposit themselves as a black smudge on the top inner surface of the bulb. However, in a halogen bulb, a tungsten recycling process constantly rebuilds the filament. That recycling, which depends on halogen compounds in the small, hot glass tube, prolongs the filament life so dramatically that the filament can operate several hundred degrees hotter than that of an ordinary bulb and still have an excellent operating life. A halogen bulb's hotter filament gives it a whiter, more energy-efficient light. These Halogen lamps are good quality, and use the standard ﾓG4ﾔ fitting. Glass should not be touched with bare fingers - oils from fingers deposited on the glass will result in uneven heating up of the glass and can cause cracking. If touched, lamp should be wiped clean with some methylated spirits before use. Cloth to be used for installation.

G4 Xenon Lamps

Xenon G4 lamps are the latest in quartz lamp technology. As they burn much cooler, the filaments do not become as brittle as halogen lamp filaments, increasing the lifespan. They are also more resistant to voltage spikes.

H3 Halogen Lamps with tails

H3 halogen lamps with a metal base and a wire tail with a 6.3mm spade connector. Lamp should not be touched with the fingers. Fittings for these globes will incorporate a latching device to hold it in. These lamps do not detach from their metal base.

MR16 Dichroic Lamps

MR 16 halogen dichroic lamps are similar to the G4 halogen bulbs, but incorporate a back reflector and lens. The unit is sealed, so the inner globe cannot be removed from the reflector.

PL Fluorescent Tube Lamps

Lamps for aquasignal Series 25 navigation lights. Looks like a festoon globe, but it has dimpled ends. Length 43.5mm. Glass diameter: 10mm.
