Allbright 80P 100A Contactors Allbright Contactors are designed for direct current loads, particularly motors. They have double breaking main contacts with silver alloy coated tips, which are weld resistent, hard wearing and have excellent conductivity. The Allbright 80P contactors are rated 100A and are sealed in an inert plastic case and have an IP66 rating.

Can Solenoids Solenoids, also known as contactors, perform same function as a relay. All ratings quoted are continuous. Basic models have copper contacts, those with silver contacts are less likely to experience arcing across the contacts and thus have a higher rating and greater durability. These solenoids have an oil filling to inhibit arcing and should be mounted with the terminals at the bottom so that the contacts are immersed in oil. All these solenoids have isolated cases, i.e. they require both positive and negative connections to the coil. Coil terminals are 4mm studs, switched terminals are 8mm studs.

Hella Normally Open Low Current Relays HELLA relays. Four terminal, plastic with standard 6mm automotive spade terminals. The diode protected relays provide circuit protection from voltage spikes due to relay switching. Current flowing through a relay coil creates a magnetic field which collapses suddenly when the current is switched off. The sudden collapse of the magnetic field induces a brief high voltage across the relay coil which is very likely to damage transistors and ICs. The protection diode allows the induced voltage to drive a brief current through the coil (and diode) so the magnetic field dies away quickly rather than instantly. This prevents the induced voltage becoming high enough to cause damage to transistors and ICs.
